Clan Preston Scotland is one of the ancient landed clans of Lothian, with roots stretching back nearly nine centuries. Our ancestors held Craigmillar Castle near Edinburgh, served the Scottish Crown, and spread across the world through centuries of emigration and service. Today, the clan brings those descendants back together through this registry.
Our Mission
We are working toward formal recognition by the Court of the Lord Lyon King of Arms — Scotland’s heraldic authority. To achieve this, we need 2,500 registered descendants of the Preston line. Every registration strengthens the case. Every Preston who joins brings the clan one step closer to its rightful standing alongside the great families of Scotland.
Who Can Join
If you carry the Preston surname — in any spelling — or descend from a Preston through any line, you are welcome here. The clan is open to all descendants, whether your connection is through a direct male line, a maternal line, marriage, or family tradition. Registration is free and takes two minutes.
